So, first let me introduce myself... I'm Michelle (a.k.a. The Lab Lady). I have nearly fourteen years of experience as an orthodontic laboratory technician.
I am a graduate of Lodi High School, and was certified in dental assisting in 1986...but the lab is where I really wanted to be!
My past work experience include T.P. Orthodontics, Inter-America/ Orthtech, and for 8 years I was employed with a local orthodontist.
Working in the ortho office has given me an advantage in appliance fabrication and finishing. I have learned to anticipate what adjustments I need to make to save the doctor chair time, as well as ensure patient comfort.
I take great pride in the work that I do, and view the ortho lab as extension of your practice. I realize that the work that I do will reflect onto you, the doctor, and I take extra care to produce a beautiful quality appliance.
What is an orthodontic laboratory?
Orthodontic labs do not work directly with the public. We work closely with your doctor to provide the best appliances for your treatment. Only your doctor can determine what appliance is best suited for your desired outcome.
I fabricate the appliance from models that your doctor provides, and based upon the specifications of the prescription.
If you have questions about your treatment or appliances please direct them to your care provider. But I will be happy to talk with you about colors, designs, glitters and the like!
